Dance & Drum Ensemble
I have seen this performance at a wedding for which I was a guest. The wedding was some time ago but I remember this group! They were so awesome and energetic. The youngest of the dancers, was a complete joy to watch. I highly recommend this troupe for weddings or the welcoming of a new baby, or anything! Amazingly professional and talented group!

CORPORATE EVENTS(Team Building)
KoumanKe'le Drum and Dance facilitators promote team building through paticipatory, non-intimidating and inclusive drum lessons. Participation does not require any musical capabilities. KoumanKe'le' will provide a percussion instrument for each attendee. Team building workshops strengthen and deepen relationships in both corporate and small business communities.
These workshops feature special guest artists from around the world, with focus on Africa and the African Diaspora. Our goal is to offer education and exposure to Master Instructors not commonly presented in Houston.
Our classes have been offered to the community since 2005. Featuring live drumming and experienced instructors, our focus os on technique and comfortable guidance through the movement. Adult and youth of all dance levels are welcome! Come experience an environment of education, fitness and healthy, positive energy! See you on the dance floor!
The Uaminifu Youth Ensemble Program (UYE), is an intensive pogram for male and female youth ages 8-17 in traditional Guinea and South African dance and drum, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, creative expression and life skills development. This program is scholarship based and FREE for all selected participants. Students receive training in the disciplines listed above and perform throughout the city.

"You had no choice but to groove alongside the powerful ladies of the KoumanKe'le' African Dance & Drum Ensemble, whose djembe drummers punished those skins while the danseurs, wearing neon-colored bead skirts and tops, carried off choreography not suitable for the weak minded." - Joel Luks, CultureMap Houston
